Pennington Is Comeback Player of the Year

Well if that isn’t just a cold slap in the groin to all Jets fans.  Let’s be honest, everyone and I mean EVERYONE thought it was a good idea to axe Chad and replace him with Brett Farve.  Hindsight being what it is, I think that almost everyone would say they wished it didn’t happen now.  It’s funny how a change of a team can allow someone to go from goat to hero in the blink of an eye.  We have seen the guy we slammed the door on come back and bite us in the butt, steal a playoff birth from us, and now win Comeback Player of the Year…. cold Chad…. really cold.

He threw for a career-high 3,653 yards with only seven interceptions, directing an offense that totaled just 13 turnovers, an NFL record the Dolphins share with this season’s New York Giants. Pennington also set team records with his completion percentage of 67.4 and quarterback rating of 97.4.  This was the 2nd time Pennington won the Comeback player of the year award.

Meanwhile in Jetsville, we have star Running Back Thomas Jones calling out Brett Farve and putting the blame solely on him for missing the playoffs.  Hey Thomas, what about the poor defensive play of the Jets the last 5 weeks…. That didn’t have anything to do with it?  And all this happening while Brett is complemplating retirement (Again!) and dealing with surgery for a torn bicep muscle.  Talk about Drama…. this is better than Guiding Light! (also filmed in NJ)

So the Season is done for the Jets, Chad’s the man in Miami and Brett is the goat in NY.   Let’s all hope that Farve’s New Years Resolution is to be the comeback player of the year for 2009.
