Knicks pull off a stunner and beat Boston

The Knicks, who had lost 7 or their last 8 games, pulled off a stunning victory over the Celtics on Sunday night, by a score of 100 - 88.  Boston, has been beatable lately, losing 4 of their last 6 games, but lets face it any team who has Garnett, Allen and Pierce in their starting lineup is a tough opponent, no matter what their current winning or losing streak is.

Although December was mostly disasterous for the Knicks, seeing as they have only won 4 games, one of those victories was over Detroit, who is a top division team.  Janurary has started off a little better, with a close loss to the Pacers and a victory over Boston. The Knicks are facing several below .500 opponents this month including Oklahoma City, Wasington (twice), Philadelphia (twice), Chicago and Charolette.  With continued play like last night, and a strong focus on Defense, the Knicks could easily finish this month with a record above .500 and put them in contention for the 8th spot for a playoff birth.

One thing the Knicks must continue to do is get looks for Wilson Chandler.  In their two recent victories, Chandler lead the team in scoring with 19 pts and 31 pts respectively.   Al Harrington also turned in 30 points last night in the victory.

Let’s hope the Knicks can continue this awesome peformance.

Note: Still no word on the Marbury front, who is rumored to have his contract bought out and seeking to sign to the Celtics.

Giants set to face worst option for divisional round

Published by danielcorvino under Giants Edit This

The Giants finally know who they will face next week in their quest for a repeat.  The Eagles defeated the Vikings by a score of 26 - 14.  The victory was fueled by a 71 year TD reception by Eagles running back Brian Westbrook.

The Eagles and Giants squared off twice this season, since they are both in the same division, and split the series 1 - 1.  The one victory that the Giants did have over the Eagles was a very close victory, and was actually almost a loss (or maybe a tie) due to some late game theatrics in the first game.

All Giants fans will tell you this was their least favorite option for this coming week.  The Cardnials seemed like a much better opponent to face in the divisional round.

This game will be hard fought and go right down to the wire.  You could see the lead change a couple times during the game.  Mark my words, the winner of this game is going to the Super Bowl.
