Yankees set to introduce Teixeria today

Those of you in the NY area can tune in to either SNY, the YES network, or your local sports channel to watch as the Yankees introduce Mark Teixera today at 1 pm.  The press conference will be held at the Old Yankee Stadium, as the new one is not ready yet (which begs the question, will it be ready for opening day???)

Teixera sign an 8 year, $180 million dollar contract in December.  He will play first base for the Yankees and will probably bat 3rd in the Yankees lineup.  Teixera is a switch hitter and is 28 years old.

The contract will guarentee that the Yankees have a productive spot at 1B until at least 2015, or until he under performs and the fans scream for him to be shipped out of town (just like they did with A Rod, argueably the best player in the game).

So tune in, and watch it happen live at 1pm.
