Curry back in the lineup

Eddie Curry was in the lineup for the first time all season last night against the Dallas Mavericks.  Curry, who showed up in preseason out of shape and nursing a knee injury, hadn’t played one minute until tonight.  Word is that Curry was in the dog house along with Stephan Murbury from the beginning of the season, and his extended vacation away from the team wasn’t entirely due to injury, and was partially due to the fact that D’antoni is not a big Curry fan.

However, in some of their recent losses, the lack of a big man became apparent.  Even though Curry doesn’t fit into the fast pace, up and down game that D’antoni likes to run, they need to figure out a way to get him some minutes, to at least prevent being killed in on the boards.  At least until they trade for another dominant player, such as Marcus Camby.

Curry’s minutes will undoubtedly be limited.  Tonight he only played less than 3 minutes.   It will be interesting to see what his role is moving forward.   This could be a situation where they play him to trade him.

That’s my 2 cent… I’d love to hear yours!
